      • Princess and the Pea? This Is Not That Story!

Another of my children's book mock-ups (excerpts)

Princess: I'm here for my test.

        Queen: What test?

Princess: The PEA test to see if I'm a real princess.

        Queen: This isn't that castle.

Princess: Sure it is. Just look at that bed.

Queen: We really can't have overnight guests here. I'd like you to leave now. You wouldn't like it here. I have a mean and ferocious pet lioness who doesn't like people.

Princess: I love lions. I bet she'll like me. I'll just take her for a quick walk for you before my PEA test. Come on little lion. Come on girl. Let's go for a walka-walka.

Princess: Sorry. I think I lost your lion. I can't find her anywhere. Oh...there you are you little cuddley lion.

Hey, whatcha doin'? This place could use a good cleaning. Have you heard of Marie Kondo? Too much clutter makes for an unhappy life.

Queen: I can't take it anymore. She's been in our castle for 10 nights now, making me give her the PEA test each night. Every time I place a pea under her mattress it defrosts so quickly that she has a wonderful night's sleep.

        Canine Security Guard and Realtor:

I have just the place for you to see. It will be perfect for the princess.

Queen: If she won't leave on her own, I must venture out with my Security Guard/Realtor to find her a castle of her own. I'll tell her this is proof that she's a real princess.

Queen: Are you sure she'll believe that this castle is hers, and that it proves she's a real princess?

Security Guard/Realtor: Of course she'll believe it. Who wouldn't love to live in a castle like this?

      • THE DIFFER FAMILY

      • Granny Differ's: How To Do Everything Better Guide

Granny has to get up mighty early to get everything done.

It takes multiple alarms to get her out of bed.

More to come...These will become another children's book when complete. Granny Differ believes in making work around the house as simple as possible.

Granny Differ says "Always vacuum the leaves in your yard at night."

The quickest way to get leaves out of your gutters.

The best way to trim your hedges and bushes.

Sheet changing day needn't be difficult. Simply remove your windows by the frames, and remember...heavy equipment is your friend.

        The Heart Project: Christmas Wish

Images are taken of children who have to remain in the hospital over the holidays, or for some, indefinitely...

And then we turn them into Magical Images for the families~

In January...Alex's mother asked me to create a special Imagine Image of Alex. Alex is 16 years old and spends her days in the hospital. She has a trachea in, almost continuously, and can't sit up without assistance. I was so honored to create this for Alex.

      • The Minding Series

        Minding has two meanings~

        1. For Children: To listen to and follow directions

        2. For Parents: To look after, take care of, tend

Parents these days try with all their might to do what’s right, to raise the brightest and the best, the loving and the kind, however the antics of youth still find a way, even when under the watchful eye of super parents. Given a tiny window of opportunity children will find a way to amuse themselves. The creative hijinks of children are sometimes risky, sometimes unkind, sometimes hilarious, and often a little more adventurous than their parents would like. However, these are the memories of childhood. In our over-scheduled, over-the-top technology driven world, I hope the physical antics and creativity of childhood are never totally lost.

      • Imagine Images: CONCEPTUAL FINE ART

Conceptual Fine Art photography is a lengthy and time-consuming process. For me, it starts long before the click of the camera. It requires starting with a backstory, a theme, an emotion, and a storyboard. Next, I gather the props, the appropriate wardrobe, I scout the location, or create a setting and time period.

Each piece of the composition is photographed separately in order to get things right in camera. If flying books are in the piece, photos are taken of each book at a variety of angles, using the correct lighting and lighting direction, so the books and subject are lit correctly and the lighting makes sense to the viewer.

In order to bring it all together each piece of the portrait is shot using the correct point of view, camera angle, angle of light, lighting, and composition. Then the drama is addressed using color, texture, movement...and even smoke bombs.

Conceptual Art inspires you to think about the visual storytelling as if it were a painting. It requires much more than a passing glance to appreciate the nuances. Is the piece whimsical? Is it based on symbolism? What is the character's story, or mindset? What time period is reflected, or is the time period unknown? Is there conflict? Is there joy? Is there mystery?

        CONCEPTUAL FINE ART "IMAGINE IMAGES"

        & FAMILY DOCUMENTARY

My two loves are at opposite ends of the artistic spectrum. My Digital Conceptual "Imagine Images" can take over 30 hours to complete.

In my family documentary work, I delve into your real life, and that includes messy faces, hilarious misadventures, mischievous cookie raids, and yes, even meltdowns.

Before you go, I just want you to know that I don't want there to be any surprises to your budget, so you'll know well in advance what everything costs. Since my focus is on creating amazing tangible products, rather than delivering just digital files on a USB flash drive, you will have a whole range of options ... matted wall prints, albums, and memory and folio boxes for "Family Documentary" images. And for your "Imagine Images" you'll be able to choose wall prints for you and your relatives/friends, personal mobile apps, a web version to share on social media, and "Behind The Scenes" videos.

P.S. You're just not going to find me on Facebook, SnapChatting, etc. racking up likes and followers for hours a day. I'm too busy taking photos of wonderful families and creating fine art portraits.

Also...my son works in cyber security, so I am very aware of trolling, hacking, etc. I love to share your photos on social media, however I do so as responsibly as possible...and mainly on Instagram.

Thanks for visiting my "webbie", as a friend of mine likes to say.
